The imagery of videographic work by Ana Carvalho translate an incessant and permanent quest for an understanding of the multitude Naturopoliphonic through colors and shapes, between the microscopic and the indistinct, cosmic noise. Ana Carvalho is live video performer and composer. Her projects describe interactions with others, being other humans, animals and plants. From these interactions emerge narrative combinations between fiction and reality. The projects reflect their process as artistic practice.
Ana Carvalho is doctor of Communication and Digital Platforms from FLUP (Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto). Her thesis is “Materiality and the Ephemeral: Identity and Performative Audiovisual Arts, its Documentation and Memory Construction.” Currently, she holds a position as invited lecturer at the ISMAI (Instituto Superior da Maia) and is responsible for the research project Ephemeral Expanded.
